Microsoft Research Limited Fund
Grants up to £2,000 (requests up to £5,000 will be considered only where an exceptionally well-supported case is made) are available from the Microsoft Research Limited Fund.
Grants will be awarded for charitable projects that fulfil one or more of the following:
- Enrich lives of disadvantaged local people through provision of cultural/educational events or experiences
- Improve the local green environment through small scale projects
- Provide support or training to improve the employability of those facing disadvantage
Projects that are open to the public or that make use of computing in their delivery are favourably considered.
Recent Awards
Examples of grants awarded from the Microsoft Research Limited Fund include:
Lifecraft - £1,000 towards work placements and a work readiness course for people with mental health problems.
Cambridge Hands-on Science (CHaOS) - £2,000 to run science events for children including “Crash, Bang, Squelch!” and the Winter Roadshow.
The Garage Community Trust - £1,140 to purchase two desktop computers for use by young people attending the youth clubs.
Bedazzle Projects - £1,700 to fund venue hire and towards technical/video support for the annual integrated show ‘Imagine’ for children and young people from mainstream schools and those with learning disabilities.
Red2Green £4,450 towards support to find work for people with mental health problems or disabilities.
Comberton Baptist Church - £1,000 towards one week of Holiday Club for children
