16 groups to receive Awards on 16 February
Sixteen groups will receive awards from the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire at the Awards evening to be held on 16 February at Cottenham village College.
The groups met the High Sheriff in late 2014 to present their project ideas. Projects have been selected for awards on the basis that they seek to have positive impacts on the local communities and the young people taking part by, for example, reducing antisocial behaviour and crime, increasing confidence and self-esteem, and engaging young people in positive activities.
An audience of over 50 guests are due to attend the Award’s event, which will include performances by two of the Award winners, Peterborough Police Amateur Boxing Club and Sin Cru, a group working with the local community on HipHop related arts projects.
