The October Fund

The October Fund invites applications of £1,000+ from local voluntary and community organisations based in and around Waterbeach and Landbeach.

The groups can deliver sporting, social, educational or other community activities and the grants can be for running costs or small capital items.

Recent Awards

Examples of previous grants include:

Friends of the Tillage Hall received £5,000 to purchase some "start up" items.

Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) received £4,000 for essentials of chairs,tables, basic kitchen equipment for Tillage Hall

Smaller donations:

Waterbeach Football Club received £300 to purchase trophies.

Waterbeach Day Centre for the Elderly received a £500 contribution to the 2010 Christmas party and a members’ outing.

Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) received £500 for the WAY Money management project.

Waterbeach Community Primary School Parent Teachers Association received £500 to buy a new music system for the Primary School

Friends of the Tillage Hall received £500 to pay the salary of administrator.

Landbeach Busytots Baby & Toddler Group received £500 towards running costs for a year.

Waterbeach Cricket Club (Youth Section) Cambridge received £500 towards equipment and running costs.

Waterbeach Day Centre for the Elderly received a £500 contribution to the cost of a Christmas party.

Waterbeach Community Primary School received £500 towards printing a cookery book, to be sold to raise funds for pupils with special needs at Waterbeach Primary School.

Landbeach Luncheon Club received £390 towards rent / costs of coach for outing.

Cambridge Summer Recitals received £500 to develop the work already started with our Music in Quiet Places concert series.

Landbeach Busytots received £500 to pay for rent of the village hall for one year.

Landbeach Village Hall received £500 to provide an enjoyable community occasion.

The Landbeach Society received £120 grant to pay a  gardener to keep access path clear of brambles and the grass cut around a listed tithe barn and £500 to pay salary of administrator.
