Wadlow Wind Farm Community Fund

The 26MW wind farm at Wadlow Farm supplies the annual equivalent of 15,000 homes, or 29% of the houses in the South Cambridgeshire District.

An annual payment is to made by the owner of the wind farm for the lifetime of the wind farm into The Wadlow Wind Farm Community Fund.

Applications for funding are invited by constituted groups (not individuals) delivering charitable projects with public benefit within a 5 km radius of the Wadlow Wind Farm Site. (The site is centred on E558337, N253509; OS Grid Ref TL 583 535). Map

Grants will be offered normally in the range of £100 to £10,000.

Traffic calming measures

The following guidance is offered to applicants who wish to submit a request for traffic calming measures

•    the panel would only accept applications for non-statutory traffic calming measures that are supported by Speedwatch evidence

•    applications submitted for non-statutory traffic calming equipment would be considered up to a maximum of £4,500

•    only one application would be considered from each Parish over the life of the wind farm fund for traffic calming measures

•    applications for non-statutory traffic calming equipment would be considered at the end of each panel meeting when projects  for community facilities/resources had been considered and satisfied

•    If there were more eligible traffic calming request than money available at a panel they would be selected on a random draw basis and projects not awarded a grant would be carried forward to the end of the next panel ( and given priority over new non-statutory traffic calming equipment )

Weston Colville Parish Council was awarded £6000 to replace old play equipment with new trim trail type exercise and play equipment
West Wratting Village Hall was awarded £20000 to replace roof extension with a modern polymer roof (Sarnafil) and insulation,
Brinkley Parish Council was awarded £250 to purchase a second matching goal
Linton Infants PTFA was awarded £500 towards a new play-space and outdoor learning area for the children
Hildersham Parochial Church Council was awarded £5000 towards a part-time Parish Nurse across six villages in Cambridgeshire
The Meadow Primary School PTA was awarded £9200 to fund the purchase of ipads to support general learning and specific IT skills at the Meadow School.
Wilbrahams' Memorial Hall & Recreation Ground Trustees was awarded £12700 for final fit out items: kitchen units and toilet cubicles in hall
Great Wilbraham Parent Teacher and Friends Association was awarded £2000 to replace the curtains in the school hall
Balsham Colts Football Club was awarded £3000 Towards a tea stall and a new set of youth aluminium goals.
Linton Children's Book Festival was awarded £2500 towards costs of Linton Children's Book Festival which provides opportunities for children and families to engage in creative activities that promote literacy and encourage a love of books and reading.
Carlton cum Willingham Parish Council was awarded £600 to refurbish the village's only bus shelter
Brinkley Parish Council was awarded £600 to refurbish the children's play area
Daisy Chains Preschool was awarded £500 to provide a small garden where children can grow vegetables, flowers and herbs.
1st Brinkley Guides was awarded £570 to purchase a 13ft Patrol Tent with wooden poles from bctoutdoors ltd.
Church of St Andrew, West Wratting was awarded £2250 to refurbish Organ.
Brinkley Parish Council was awarded £2340 to purchase a bench and replace old cargo net in play area.
RAF Wratting Common Memorial was awarded £948 to re-paint inscription on memorial.
Trustees of Brinkley Memorial Hall was awarded £2500 to replace existing floor.
Fulbourn Village Library was awarded £700 for a Walking Guide to the Fulbourn Area.
Golden Oldies Mays Avenue Coffee Club was awarded £900 for day coach trips for elderly residents some in wheelchairs.
Balsham Church Institute (Village Hall) was awarded £1000 for replacement of chairs in the Village Hall
Great Wilbraham Parent Teacher and Friends Association was awarded £1000 to provide blackout blinds for three teaching spaces.
West Wratting Village Hall was awarded £843 to replace a rotten window.
Fulbourn Arts was awarded £3000 for the purchase of the floor covering to protect sports floor from a contemporary, community drama production
Fulbourn, Gt Wilbraham & Lt Wibraham Parish Councils was awarded £5000 to fund a Saturday bus journey between Fulbourn and Newmarket.
Wilbrahams Youth Group was awarded £659 to purchase tabble tennis, mini projector and free standing projector screen.
Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) was awarded £1000 towards funding a new piece of life-saving equipment.
The Meadow Primary School PTA was awarded £3700 to purchase two interactive Smart Projects and Boards.
Little Warblers Preschool was awarded £550 to refurbish indoor and outside of the mobile, purchase new equipment and replace damaged floor.
Weston Colville Cricket Club was awarded £4500 to contribute towards upgrading the pavilion.
Balsham Parish Council was awarded £4000 to refurbish the kitchen in the Balsham Pavilion which is very old and not fit for purpose anymore.
Balsham Parochial Church Council was awarded £1000 to replace the existing churchyard mower with a new ride-on mower with recycler deck.
Brinkley Parish Council was awarded £750 to renovate the Brinkley Memorial Hall Plaque.
Linton Children's Book Festival was awarded £2500 towards funding for the Linton Children's Book Festival 2014.
Trustees of Brinkley Memorial Hall was awarded £8500 towards insulation of the walls and ceiling of the Hall
